Fresh Faces Friday: Chyna Streetz

Fresh Faces FridayFresh Faces Friday: The Fresh Committee Introduces Chyna Streetz

This week we got a multi-talented former model, singer songwriter, and raw MC from the streets of Brooklyn, New York.

Much like her BK predecessors MC Lyte, Lil’ Kim, and Foxy Brown. Chyna Streetz is a performer! She presents herself in such a way as to create an aura, draw your attention, and leave an impression. An under stated quality in today’s short attention span world.

Also like her precursors, she can flat out spit:

Niggas better have my checks so I’m collecting next/

Its all about respect cause I don’t understand debt/

My name must taste good the way they hating/

Took the bait now they debating/

Sitting in the stands awaiting on my arrival/

Like Armageddon in the bible/

Trust me this revival is gonna take more than scripture recitals/

Her earliest releases date back more than 6 years ago, but she didn’t get serious about her pen game until a few years back when the output became consistent.

Chyna’s summer 2018 EP Weird Girl Antics is what caught our ear. The opening cut Devious is a love poem to a failed relationship, while on Angry Black Girl she reminds us of her dedication to the game: “I gotta go bro, I’m trying to prep for the show, and you bringing my vibe low.”

With continued consistency and some breaks, Chyna Streetz has what it takes to emerge as the new wicked rhyme witch of the east.
