Cowboy Bebop Band the SEATBELTS Perform Original Theme Song “Tank!”

Everyone knows for a good anime, there are two elements that must come together for it to all work. The animation must be pristine, and the music must be stellar. Cowboy Bebop is arguably one of the best anime’s of all time, especially in the ’90s. So for genuine fans, we have a little something special for you. The SEATBELTS, the original band that recorded the beloved intro that is now the Cowboy Bepop theme song, came together virtually to perform “Tank!” for fans.

Led by instrumentalist Yoko Kanno, the band came together to perform the iconic theme song using all the original instruments. The original track featured drums, a double bass, trumpets, shakers, trumpets, saxophones, flutes and guitars. The original tracks duration extends only to 2 mins but SEATBELTS give us a full 4 minute performance during these arduous times.

As one of the best anime ever to release, its influence extends well past the 90s. Even the streaming giant Netflix plans to release a live action version of the popular anime. With John Cho starring as the brazen Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black and Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine.
