The 2020 Golden Globe Awards took place in Los Angeles the other night, with actor Joaquin Phoenix winning Best Actor for his role in Joker and 1917 taking home Best Picture.

Phoenix– who beat Adam Driver and Christian Bale to win the illustrious  award took some time during his acceptance speech to talk a bit about the environment and climate change. Phoenix also took time to acknowledge those who helped him get to this point in his life. You can watch the heart-warming speech below.

Furthermore, Awkwafina (actress and comedian Nora Lum) put one in the history books when she won Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy. This makes Lum the first Asian woman to win in the category in Golden Globes history, according to Vox.

It was also so good to see Brad Pitt on stage winning a well deserved award. Pitt won Best Supporting Actor for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood while actor Olivia Colman won Best Actress in a Television Series for The Crown.
