Fresh Faces Friday: The Fresh Committee Introduces Zach Diamond

If someone mentions Ottawa, Ontario Canada, hip-hop ain’t exactly what first comes to mind…or second or third for that matter. But buried deep inside the North is a diamond in the rough, a young MC who goes by the name of Zach Diamond

Patience, persistence and consistency define this 19 year old who has been plying his trade ever since he was 13 when his older brother set up a makeshift mic stand in the basement of their parents home.
Following in the footsteps of a long line of “Do-It-Yourself” artists that have emerged in the streaming age, Zach began making a name for himself by posting freestyles and covers to his YouTube channel which has amassed a steady following that continues to grow. What made him stand out however, besides his refined flow and technique is the subject matter of his rhymes which are one half conscious, other half positive and all around dope:
“Everyday I pray to god that I make it through; I feel like I killed this beat already; I just got deja vu; I’m still in college; Trying get popping; I don’t have another option; It’s like I’m Gotham asking Batman would he ever start robbing; I know that I’m doing it; I’m moving it; I’m making the music and pursuing it”
The North’s east coast has had no shortage of hip-hop superstars in recent years and there’s little doubt that Diamond will follow in their footsteps by staying on his grind.
