Mahershala Ali Will Be Starring in the Reboot of Blade

Created by writer Marv Wolfman, Blade’s first appearance was in the 1973 comic book The Tomb of Dracula #10, as a supporting character but the character became a silver screen legend as one of the first successful super hero flicks coming before the Marvel MCU and others. Wesley Snipes originally starred as the vigilante in David S. Goyer’s Blade franchise, which began with the 1998 original and was followed by two sequels, Blade II and Blade: Trinity but it was recently announced that the series will be re-boot with Mahershala Ali in the title role.

Ali is a two-time Oscar winner, having first won his first statue for his role in Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight. Ali was able to secure the role by simply calling up the studio after campaigning for the role. Let’s hope that Blade crosses over into the MCU and eventually gains a spot on the Avengers.
