Kevin Durant Reveals Why He Decided to Sign to the Brooklyn Nets

When you talk about the best in the NBA. You simply cannot exclude Kevin Durant. His name was one of the biggest names in Free Agency this year. Unlike the hype surrounding Kawhi Leonard, there wasn’t a lot of talk about where KD would go next. Some analysts thought the 2x NBA Champ would return to Golden State Warriors but it was pretty clear to most that  KD would be going to go to the Brooklyn Nets to play alongside Kyrie Irving. I sometimes feel bad for the New York Knicks because at one point it seemed as if KD would end up playing at The Garden but the chance to play with Kyrie Irving at the Barclays Center was an offer I’m sure Durant couldn’t refuse.

In a recent interview, Nets general manager Sean Marks spoke about the Durant signing and why he ultimately chose Brooklyn. As Marks explains, it had more to do with the way the team plays and less to do with Kyrie.

“I love the system. I love how you guys play. We could never take you guys lightly.”Kevin Durant

To be honest, I thought this answer was kinda lame. Nonetheless, Nets fans are in for a treat for the next few seasons. Unfortunately, this upcoming season will be without Kevin due to his ruptured Achilles injury. But once he returns, the Brooklyn Nets have a chance to make it to the finals and possibly win it all.
