Sneaker Politics & Saucony Unveil a Café Du Monde Inspired Shadow 5000

Inspired by the iconic Café Du Monde in New OrleansSneaker Politics has worked alongside Saucony to drop a Shadow 5000 colorway paying homage to the city’s most famous open-air coffee shop.

Let me start by saying I absolutely love this colorway. The shoe pulls inspiration from beignets. A staple in New Orleans heritage since 1862. The “Beignet Brown” colorway features a three-tone brown suede leather and mesh upper. Detailed with white flecks to resemble powdered sugar sitting atop the breakfast pastry. The upper also features a white tongue and midsole. Which they compliment with a splash of green on the tongue’s branding and outsole. The green is an homage to the Café Du Monde’s patio overhangs.

These same colors also extend to the insole where we find green and white stripes as well as solid brown near the heel portion. Furthermore, both sneakers come with two sets of laces in green and white. They also come in a specially designed vintage-themed shoe box. There’s also a second colorway dubbed “Powdered Sugar” which hasn’t been revealed yet. They’ll drop at the same time as the “Beignet Brown,” but they’ll be limited to only 200 pairs. The Sneaker Politics x Saucony Shadow 5000 “Beignet Brown” and “Powdered Sugar” both drop this Saturday on June 22 exclusively at Sneaker Politics’ New Orleans location.
