Porsche just revealed their all-new Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder. Both models now go under the 718 name. Both cars also feature some welcomed upgrades. The two mid-engine sports cars now put out 414 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque which all comes from a 4.0L flat-six based on the 911’s turbocharged engines. These new Porsches can rev up to 8,000 rpm, and go from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 188 mph for the Cayman GT4 and 187 mph for the Boxster Spyder.
When it comes to the gearbox, both the Cayman GT4 and the Boxster Spyder sport a six-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, both cars feature Porsche’s own “Auto Blip” technology that automatically matches gearbox and engine speeds when you’re downshifting. For all you enthusiasts out there, don’t worry the feature can be turned off if you prefer. Both models also feature 20-inch wheels they’ve also receive an updated Porsche Active Suspension Management setup that significantly improves the ride quality.
Porsche is currently taking orders for the 718 Cayman GT4 and the 718 Spyder. Both models should reach the United States by Spring 2020. The Cayman GT4 has a price tag of $100,450 USD and the Boxster Spyder goes for $97,550 USD. You can look at the detailed images in the gallery below.
