One thing’s for certain, becoming a father has transitioned Khaled Mohamed’s, more commonly known as DJ Khaled, life for the better. Since welcoming Asahd to the world in 2016, the general public has seen him always put his son at the frontlines in all aspects of his [fabulous] life. The release of his latest project is no exception.
Renowned for bringing the most seasoned and coveted talent in music together, Father of Asahd picks up where Khaled left off in his last album. The 15 track project has features from Cardi B, 21 Savage, Big Sean, Travis Scott, Post Malone, and the late-great Nipsey Hussle to name a few.
The album’s sound varies between hard-hitting tracks built to blow out sound systems in his old Miami/NOLA stomping grounds, pop hits to keep the Kid’s Choice Awards invites in his email inbox forever, and R&B bops to keep fans crooning in their cars on the way to work. Let’s not forget the plethora of features. Even at nearly 1/2 the run time of his last project Grateful, the list of stars lending their lyrics, tone and hooks to Khaled’s latest opus is well over a dozen.
The rollout to this album is unlike anything DJ Khaled has ever done and for all intents and purposes, we have to say we’re impressed. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Hip Hop production heavy-weight’s 11th project, take a moment to go through the project below and let us know your thoughts.
In the meantime, be sure to check out his heartfelt words honoring the memory of the late Nipsey Hussle in regard to their collab: ‘Higher’, here.
