Avengers: Endgame Will Likely Become The Highest Grossing Movie Of All-Time
It comes at little to no surprise that Marvel‘s Avengers: Endgame is the number one movie in the world. We also knew it would break all kinds of records. As they say, records are only meant to be broken. The fourth installment of the Avengers is now in a league of only five movies to ever to reach the $2 billion USD mark. The other four are Avatar, Titanic, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Marvel’s very own Avengers: Infinity War. What makes things even more interesting is that Avengers: Endgame is the fastest movie to ever reach the milestone. It climbed to $2.189 billion USD in its second weekend at the box-office. To give you some perspective, James Cameron’s Avatar took 47 days to reach $2 billion.
We then received New reports by Deadline indicating the franchise reached an estimated $2,193.7 million globally. This put Marvel’s new superhero blockbuster ahead of Titanic earning the title of second highest grossing box-office movie of all-time. It should be noted that Avengers: Endgame is taking over the box-office overseas as well, raking in $1.57 billion dollars already. Thus making it second best to Avatar. But can Marvel’s Endgame take the throne and beat out Avatar?
James Cameron’s Avatar has held the top stop since it acquired it back in 2010 with a colossal $2,788B. There’s only a $595 million dollar USD difference between two now. So it isn’t too shocking that Marvel Studios may soon hold the crown with Avengers: Endgame when it’s all said and done. What’s even crazier to think about is that Marvel Studios and their films make up half of the Top 10 Highest Grossing movies of all time. So it should be long before it surpasses Avatar. I’m expecting it to become number one within the coming months. Furthermore, after 10 years of bringing some of our favorite superheroes to life, and doing it in a way only Marvel could. I must say, these record-breaking figures come well deserved.
