A little less than a week and the worldwide mourning for the fallen Rapper, Nipsey Hussle hasn’t ceased. A tough week for many, something that those close to him haven’t discounted. In tribute, the Staples Center in Los Angeles is reported to host Nipsey Hussle’s memorial.
The service is set to go down on Thursday, April 11th in the morning. It’s been reported that tickets to the event will be sold online and only those who have purchased them will be able to attend the service.
LAPD, as well as family and venue execs, were present at the memorial-planning. Mapping out logistics and blueprints for what will undoubtedly be an event more crowded than a Lakers game. The last time something like this has occurred was for Michael Jackson’s memorial held there in 2009.
Kudos to his family at this difficult time who have shown an admirable amount of strength. His brother, Samiel Asghedom AKA ‘Blacc Sam’ in particular who according to the Los Angeles Times, had found his brother dying and tried to save him, following instructions from a 911 operator on the telephone.
He mentions on that fateful day, that no one in the vicinity was carrying weaponized protection [guns]. Felons aren’t allowed and Nipsey hired many to help them get back on their feet.
“Because of that, the man was able to shoot my brother, start running, realize nobody out there had a gun, stop, turn back around, walk up, shoot my brother two more times, start to run, realize nobody had a gun, nobody was responding, ran back up and shot my brother three more times, shoot him in the head and kicked him in the head and then ran off,”
“If somebody would’ve been there—if I would’ve been there—I would’ve shot back,” he said. “I just wish I would’ve been there,” Samiel told the times
Haunting words. Ones many reciprocate. As for justice, it seems another twist in the story has occurred and high profile Lawyer, Christopher Darden of OJ Simpson prosecution fame has taken the case of Nipsey’s alleged killer, entering a ‘not guilty’ plea to the judge. Questions are of course arising as to the integrity and moral compass of Darden and the financial aspect to all of it. Namely, how can a low-level ‘gangster’ afford someone as renowned as Darden? Who is really footing the bill?
Friends and family will just have to see how this goes. In the meantime, the flood of love and appreciation for the artist hasn’t ceased since March 31st.
Bro…this man is being mourned by the LAPD…do you know how impactful you have to be mourned by Bloods, Crips, Eses, and Cops

Community leader Big U explained the intention of the ‘Unity Walk” stating:
“We’re having a gang truce and a gang rally so all the different gangs from L.A can get together and come celebrate the life and the gift of Nipsey…It’s a lot of people who were calling who said they wanted to get together and come over to the vigil and pay respects.“
Thoughts and prayers continue to go up to his family during this time.
