Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs Matchup was Best Game of the Year.
In a game where the Spurs hit their first 14 triples, Lamarcus Aldridge scored 54 points and Russell Westbrook dropped the first 24 point, 24 assist and 10 rebound game, it was sure to have some sort of suspense attached to it.
The Spurs led most of the game, but the Thunder seemed to stick around, despite the spurs shooting a blistering 84.2% from deep, going 11-11 in the first half alone. As the game started to reach the end of regulation I sat up thinking that the game would be won by the Spurs. While the Spurs did eventually win, it took them two extra periods to get it done. In regulation, the Thunder got some late game heroics from Terrance Ferguson as he hit consecutive 3s to keep the thunder in contention. In the overtime periods they seemed to have an answer for each other as both teams traded basket for basket until the Spurs opened up a bit of a lead in the final overtime. Take a look at the recap below and I think the Spurs are starting to find their stride as they have been beating teams night in night out more and more lately.
