Journalist Rob Markman Interviews Jonah Hill on His Directorial Debut
Man, oh man. I’ve been anticipating this film ever since I first heard about it. Jonah Hill is one of my favorite actors. During the last decade, his iconic roles shaped my youth. Now, Hill is giving back to hip-hop music what it gave to him growing up. In the video above he sits down with Genius.com’s Rob Markman. They discuss the difficulties of making a film that accurately portrays hip-hop and skateboard culture. As writer, director, and music supervisor Hill perfected his film’s aesthetic until perfection. Although I am yet to see it, I have total faith in its vision. And I can’t wait to review it. Press play above to hear what hip-hop means to Jonah Hill and how he channels its influence to tell a story of a young teen trying to find his place in the world.
