Tadao Ando’s Beautiful New York Penthouse on 152 Elizabeth Street is a True Dream Home.
Japanese architect Tadao Ando designed the penthouse on 152 Elizabeth Street, that is truly a sight to behold. The 5,603-square-foot duplex features four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It provides seamless transition between indoor and outdoor space with multiple outdoor terraces that make up 3,240-square-feet of the crib. The penthouse, that rounds out a seven-story residential building situated in Manhattan’s Nolita, offers stunning views from its expansive rooftop terraces. Designed specifically for enjoying the fresh air. In addition features an outdoor kitchen, stone fireplace, soaking tub and outdoor shower.
The inside consists of stone, steel, oak, the glass. The kitchen countertop island elevates to dining height, is a noteworthy highlight amongst a number of aesthetically pleasing elements. Lastly the building, which was Ando’s first in New York, was described by the Pritzker Prize winner as a “very quiet piece of architecture.” Ando also adds, in a movie made about the project, that he wanted to “create something that only a Japanese person could do.”
