Aston Martin’s RapidE Might Become The Most Exclusive Electric Sports Car In The World
Aston Martin’s upcoming electric sports car, the RapidE, may become the rarest electric sports car of all time. Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer recently announced the struggling electronics firm LeEcho had pulled out of the project and as a result only 155 RapidE’s would be produced, about 30% of what was initially planned.
Although not a lot of details about the RapidE have been released publicly here’s what we know so far. First revealed in 2015 as a collaboration between Aston Martin and LeEcho was a four-door sports car with many similarities to Aston Martin’s Rapside S. It will be powered by an all-electric powertrain which replaces the 6.0L V12 engine and is planned to enter production in 2019.
