Steve Lacy Takes To Social To Announce His Debut Solo Album “Apollo XXI”
You probably know Steve Lacy from his contributions as a guitarist and lead songwriter, for the neo-soul, Alternative RnB collective The Internet. Lacy has since made a name for himself and in his own way gained the support of thousands of fans as a solo act.
Steve Lacy worked on records with some of music’s best including The Vampire Weekend on their single “Sunflower” as well as Solange Knowles on her project When I Get Home. Lacy always makes it sonically clear as to what kind of artist he is. His records have a unique soulful funk to them that is all his own. From singles such as “RYD/Dark Red” that are a reflection visually of the quality of music, Steve wants to put out into the world. The video features vibrant colors and intriguingly unusual styling. That paired with its humorous backing plot helped the video garner almost 14 million views on YouTube.
So his fans have been waiting for his debut project and they finally got what they’ve been asking for. Steve Lacy took to Instagram to announce the release date and the artwork for his debut album “Apollo XXI”. He recently dropped the single for his album “N Slide” from last month set to be on the project as well. Apollo XXI drops on May 24.
