Happy eclipse season, team!

We’re back and another major astrological event is taking place Sunday. The Super Blood Wolf Moon in Leo hits January 20th-21st, 2019 from 9:36 p.m. EST, peaking at 12:12 a.m. where the Sun, Moon and Earth are perfectly aligned until 12:31 a.m. EST at 0 degrees and 52 minutes of Leo. (Quick spark note, every zodiac sign has 30 degrees before the earth heads into the next sign). The moon will also oppose the Sun at 0 degrees and 52 minutes of Aquarius, and affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 0 to 6 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

Mouth full, eh?

But wait, there’s more:

You may be skeptical about the moon having any affect on us whatsoever but remember, the moon controls the oceans, which make up about 70 percent of the earth’s surface. Now humans are about 60 percent water ourselves so like it or not, there’s really no escaping the pull.

So not only is Aquarius season kicking off, a New Moon is occurring meaning we’re closer to our satellite than normal during this orbit.

What’s in a name? Yes it sounds a little sinister but a ‘Blood Moon’ is simply when a lunar eclipse makes the Moon look a reddish color as it enters the shadow of the earth.

The Moon is thought to affect not just the tides but emotions, love/romance, family, and home. When you experience a Super Blood Wolf Moon plus eclipse, these discretely-held areas are enhanced. The energy generated during the Super Blood Wolf Moon will allow you to take a diplomatic and objective view at these areas in your life. You’ll have a chance to his clear any issues that are causing hindrances in your inter-personal dealings. You might be forced to deal with these energies since we’re throwing in Uranus, planet of unexpected changes and rebellion into the mix. It will be linking with Venus, planet of love and money, causing you to focus on these areas and ultimately giving you the green-light to breathe and gain real insight into any problems that may need to be addressed.

Leo the Lion is said to be an independent, creative and passionate cosmic energy tied to popularity, mirth and general good humor.

People born under this sign are generous and warm-hearted with a flair for drama. They have a knack for drawing in attention effortlessly but can come across as arrogant, lazy, VERY prideful [king of the Jungle, remember?] and stubborn at times.

So, this particular Eclipse charged by the Leo moon may cause you and those around you to experience large emotional, mood swings and a tendency to be impulsive [Uranus]. Also, you may be searching for something new and exciting due to basic feelings of dissatisfaction and restlessness. Hey, we’re young, it’s to be expected but this may not be the time to make any significant change based on any reckless actions.

It’s still a powerfully transformative time, and with no planets retrograde currently it’s full steam ahead on all fronts, making for a ridiculously powerful eclipse.

Since this lunar phenomenon will be in the sign of Leo, the focus on family, desire for new things, love and public relations [check your midheaven, that’s the area in your birth chart that rules your public life and reputation sector] will be the focal point. All sorts of things may shake loose. People may find that what they found appealing in the past no longer holds the same weight. You’ll be forced to take a deep look at your feelings (what the moon rules) and whether your values line up with them or not.

The moon knows all your secrets, whether you want to admit them or not. Even if you’re trying to forget what matters most to you.

On a lighter note, with the right preparation, this is probably a good time to try manifest new things. Be bold like the Leo Moon represents and maybe try a new haircut, new food…
(Shameless example: I ordered Thai food this evening with some trepidation. Now I’m a Massaman curry girl through and through but I decided to go crazy and order these ‘summer rolls’. Crossing my fingers Doordash wouldn’t play me like they have in the past, I was pleasantly surprised when the food showed up, smellin’ good. Lookin’ right. Steaming hot and un-tampered with and get this, Uranus (planet of the unexpected) blessed me with an extra set of rolls! For like, no reason (and your girl was famished). Bottom line, it’s my new jump off now.  So try a new restaurant or make new contacts through networking professionally. Small changes like these should temper the itch of your general restlessness and need for change.

Piggy backing on that, here’s some advice for the signs that this lunar phenomenon will affect most significantly.

LEO

Yes you roaring feline, if you’ve been looking for that kick in the rear to become more self-sufficient and active, January’s full moon will finally help you get what your seeking. Leo’s love to be around others but this is a time to try to turn your famous outgoingness inward and regain your self confidence. Often you need a catalyst to go be more independent and there’s nothing wrong with that. The eclipse will being a new start for you, you’ll be able to assert yourself and find your own way so be optimistic. Release those patterns that have you feeling stuck. Remember insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Start a new routine that focuses on your wellness [mentally and physically] so that in the end, your roar will be more powerful than ever. What are you doing? What are you doing? Oh, that’s right, you’re doing you.

TAURUS

This is going to be a time for monumental shifts for you. Make sure you take the time to meditate and reflecting on things you believe in. Your values, your goals. This eclipse is set to shift your inner beliefs, bringing personal truths to light. But don’t be scurrred, take the bull by the horns [pun intended] and ready yourself for transformation. As stubborn as you can be, it would be wise to make sure that you’re being patient and compassionate while you’re doing it. But your a fixed sign, so burying into this grounded energy should be a walk in the park for you.

SCORPIO

Shout out to my fellow Arachnids! It’s your time to ready-set-go! and get some shit done in the office. But as our ruling planets would have it, Mars, god of war and Pluto, captain of the underworld have us strapped and ready to block out some hate. *Sigh* what else is new? Never fear though– we live in this energy. The dark parts of the human pysche. The stuff no one wants to address. Just remember, the eclipse has your back and will bring new opportunities your way, making you the object of professional jealousy by others. Remember to retract your stinger. You can use Mars’ strength to kill the hate with kindness. Of course you’re allowed to  be proud of your achievements, but a good champion is humble. Try to offer help where you can.

AQUARIUS

Happy Aquarius season! The earth shifts into your constellation on the 20th so it’s your time. I know St. Valentines day isn’t until next month but it looks like love is in the air for you, fam. Yes, relationships are a top priority right now, as you aim to give your all to another, so try to make this area a focus (or the universe will unapologetically do it for you). You’ll be getting a big boost of energy from this lunation so while you have the gumption, you can make some impactful changes in your love life. Use that watery energy to surf these swells and ride out that mojo.

Now all of the star signs will feel this eclipse in one way or another so feel free to take what resonates; but the Leo Super Blood Wolf Moon will allow us a chance to stop, look, and listen. Then, we can all move forward and experience new adventures and maturation. The blockage of energy from the eclipse and the influence of the Leo Super Blood Wolf Moon should help everyone with insight and the ability to move forward in a good way during this energy. Just remember with this heavy boost of lunar gravity hitting us like a Tsunami, be mindful to filter out the genuine and healthy emotion from the dramatic. Lunar eclipses are often associated with change, mystery, and upheaval but don’t let this freak you out; since it’s the first full moon of the regular calendar year, this is a good time to contemplate what things — ideas, habits, practices you sincerely want to move through 2019 with.

Be sure to take a peek out of your window to see it live! The eclipse will be in the path of totality for North and South America, Europe and western Africa. Central and eastern Africa and Asia will see a partial eclipse of the Moon. Now’s your chance since the next one won’t happen until 2021.
