The Nike Cortez “Koinobori” Features a Peaceful Japanese-Inspired Makeover

The Nike Cortez “Koinobori” Features a Peaceful Japanese-Inspired Makeover.

If you’re familiar with the PUMA Suedes that release late last month. Then you’ll be right at home with these, here’s why. The Flying Hawk Studio have decided to team up once again with Simple Union, this time they’ll rework Nike‘s classic Cortez sneaker.

These are so clean. Firstly, the Cortez features traditional Japanese elements on the Swooshes. You’ll find “Koinobori” carp, which is a symbol of Japan’s auspicious Antai. The carp also represents the greatness of all fathers. Lastly, the white uppers feature a Japanese antique accessory crafted from cloth, beads and a leather strap.

If you’d like a  custom pair of Nike Cortez “Koinobori”, they’ll be available for pre-order starting Saturday May 5 until Sunday, May 13 at The Flying Hawk Studio. You can look at the official images above and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
