The wait is over, as singer-songwriter, Shuba releases her new single “Stupid,” written by Shuba and produced by Chason and Kevin Qian. The catchy record confronts the point in a relationship when moving on is inevitable and being confident,.
“We all want to be treated with love and respect. Stupid is a song that tells people that If you are being surrounded by negativity, it’s okay to stand up for yourself. It’s alright to leave,” says Shuba when asked about the record.
The release of “Stupid” is the follow up to a string of career accomplishments for Shuba including bring featured on POP TV’s ‘Sing It On,’ being a Semi-finalist on American Idol, winning Outstanding Vocalist for ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate Acapella) and performing at the White House for former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Described as having an indie-pop vibe, “Stupid,” introduces listeners to a fresh new sound for the artist.
Shuba also had this to say regarding the single, “Stupid actually took a while to produce, just because the direction of the song could’ve gone really anywhere. But I really think Stupid is one of the most honest songs I’ve ever written.”
Along with her debut EP on the horizon, Shuba is fresh off of New York Fashion Week and planning an upcoming listening tour later this Spring.
