James Blake Releases “If the Car Beside You Moves Ahead” Visual
British electronic soul singer-songwriter and producer James Blake is less than public. He tends to work inside the shadows, emerging only to give the world a peek into his artistic mind. In the summer of 2016, Blake released his third studio album The Colour in Anything. I nominated it for the Best Electronic/Experimental Album KAMMY Award. Although it did not win, it is an excellent album. Typically, James releases material sparingly. However, a few days back, he shared an abstract new visual. “If the Car Beside You Moves Ahead” is one of his trippiest efforts yet. It’s been on repeat all day today. On the surface, it makes little sense. Despite this lack of form, the song prefers to connect on a visceral level rather than a logical one. Press play above and see what you think.
