Independent UK artist Fabian Secon has unveiled his latest offering, “Blood Kisses”, a dark alternative R&B/hip-hop record, which was entirely self-written and produced. The new release follows the progressive “Haze” (alongside fellow UK stars Young T & Bugsey), which has been a huge success on streaming platforms Spotify and Soundcloud, with 100,000 combined streams in less than four weeks and growing rapidly by the day.
Speaking on the new track, Fabian says, ”’Blood Kisses’ has an aggressive feel to it with heavy bass to go alongside the sensual lyrics. It’s something a bit different—I call it punk trap.”
“Blood Kisses” aims to continue the momentum Fabian has created over the last few months with a string of successful and critically acclaimed releases that have helped establish a growing fan base for the unsigned artist, bolstered by word of mouth and support from the likes of MTV, dynmk, Pigeons & Planes, Complex, Link Up TV, HHS1987, Thisis50 and more. Previous release “Defeated” has already achieved over 80,000 streams on both Spotify and SoundCloud since being released in October, pushing Fabian past half a million SoundCloud streams in total.
Prior to this Fabian released the soulful “Teenage Love” , which was co-produced by frequent collaborator 5ive Beatz(Nines, Stormzy, Ray BLK, Krept & Konan, Abra Cadabra) and soared straight into the top 3 of US music siteDJBooth’s Independent Hip-Hop/R&B Chart and into the top 100 on US platform Audiomack in just 3 days. Fabian already joined forces with 5ive Beatz earlier this year for joint EPUntil We Meet Again as well as UK R&B singerGeovarn for “Tell Me” and more recently producer Kai-A for Five 45 A.M . There are more collaborations in the vault too with the likes of Nyge, AJ Tracey and Tayá, further solidifying his place at the forefront of the UK’s revitalised urban music scene.
Fabian’s rise has been swift and impressive, given it was only last year when he dropped his debut EP, Don’t Disturb , which received a great reception and paved the way for support from a wealth of radio stations and industry tastemakers, such as Jamz Supernova and DJ Target at BBC Radio 1Xtra, where EP single “Sensei” was given BBC Introducing Single Of The Week honours by MistaJam. The accompanying video went on to accumulate 150,000 streams on Fabian’s VEVO channel —which has attracted large audiences for all of his visuals released so far.Fabian has also had support from Capital FM and Capital XTRA for “Gold Plated” and was selected by Spotify earlier this year to feature in several of their highly sought-after playlists with “Lust” and “Rockstar” .
With a fan base clearly on board and online buzz growing daily, Fabian’s next pursuit is the live circuit. Having already performed at UK venues Jazz Cafe, Hoxton Bar & Grill and Barfly among others, the London native is venturing out to the international stage. Stay tuned for dates to be announced soon.
