Mercedes Unveils Their First All-Electric EQA Concept With More Coming In 2022.
Making it’s official debut at Frankfurt, The Concept EQA is Mercedes‘ first ever all-electric concept car. It features two electric motors and doesn’t follow the automakers usual design concepts with softer lines and edges. The motors put out 200 kW (272 PS) in an all-wheel drive, front to rear torque distribution. The car also features a spiral-shaped light signet and a black panel on the front which acts as a virtual radiator grille.
The grille changes based on the drive train; when in “Sport” the panel will display a flaming wing, “Sport Plus” displays a Panamericana grille very much like their new GLE 63 model. The car will charge via induction or wall box with rapid charging included, depending on the capacity of the battery installed, will give you a range of about 400 km (248 miles.)
“With the Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA, our electric initiative is gathering pace: by 2022 Mercedes-Benz cars will have more than ten all-electric vehicles on the market,” – Dr Dieter Zetsche
The EQC is scheduled to come out of the Mercedes-Benz Bremen plant in the year 2019 and will be based on the Concept EQ shown in Paris the year prior.
