Chance The Rapper Talks About Never Running for President In New Interview

Even before he struck the world by storm, Chance the Rapper has always been very vocal regarding his beliefs and the rights of a community. He not only makes quality music, he’s also managed to become a voice for the people of Chicago and for inner city communities across the country. Chance donated $1 million USD of his own money to Chicago Public Schools and just recently obtained his first No 1 single. Chance now graces the cover of Ebony‘s June “Black Music Issue.”

Speaking with Adrienne Samuels Gibbs, Chance discusses whether he would run for President Of The United Staes one day. But according to Chance, he has no plans on being involved in American Politics. You can check out the full story at Medium. Chance states:

“I would never run for any office or government position. I’m not into it. I think politics is a reason why a lot of stuff doesn’t get done. There’s a lot of favors, and a lot of people are held back by their intentions of being re-elected or the things that they owe their party or constituents. I think when you’re in my position as an artist, I can say what I want and talk about the issues that matter.”
