Afropunk is the premiere destination for African-Americans who are interested in the marrying of Alternative cultures and Black culture. Debuting in 2005 the festival has come a long way kickstarting the careers of many of today’s upcoming black artist and serving as a homecoming for many legends of Rock, Hip-Hop and Soul. this year marks the 11th annual festival and some of music’s biggest names are set to kill light up the stage, past performers includes, Lauryn Hill, Lenny Kravitz, In living Colour and many more. While Brooklyn serves as the home base for Afropunk’s annual festival, it has expanded to Paris and Atlanta giving more opportunity to many international black artist who don’t really have a supporting market in music.

This years event is to take place August 27-28 and to be headlined by Ice Cube, Janelle Monáe,  Cee-Lo Green, Tyler The Creator and TV On The Radio plus performances by George Clinton, Saul Williams and many more.
