Eneale Pickett is an aspiring poet and freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. You can listen to his poetry mixtape, L.I.F.E below. Pickett’s first track, a poetic version of Kanye’s New Slave’s sees Eneale dropping thought provoking bars over the minimalistic background track. Overall Eneale’s style is very political with hints of fun and different thoughts. Eneale’s Chicago roots can be felt throughout the entire project and his style can be identified as similar to a College Dropout Kanye or a Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. The second track, Marvel At the Noose stands out the most to me as it really allows Eneale to shine through the track and deliver his fresh poetry. Tracks like Dear God and L.I.F.E really show Eneale’s competency as a poet as he provides listeners with his learned wisdom and thoughts. Overall L.I.F.E is definitely worth a listen to any fan of poetry or real hip hop and it is sure to leave you satisfied.
